Ingredients
- Rolled oats 50g
- Milk (e.g., semi-skimmed, or plant-based) 150ml
- Plain yogurt (e.g., Greek style) 50g
- Honey or maple syrup 1 tsp
- Mixed berries (fresh or frozen) 75g
- Chia seeds 1 tbsp
- Vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
- For the topping (optional)
- Extra mixed berries 25g
- Chopped nuts or seeds 1 tbsp
Method
- In a jar or airtight container, combine the rolled oats, milk, plain yogurt, honey or maple syrup, chia seeds, and vanilla extract.
- Stir everything together thoroughly until well combined.
- Gently fold in most of the mixed berries, reserving a small handful for topping.
- Cover the container tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the oats to soften and thicken.
- In the morning, stir the overnight oats. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk to reach your desired consistency. Top with the reserved berries and any optional nuts or seeds before serving.
