Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (170°C fan/Gas Mark 5).
  2. For the filling, place the mixed berries in a large bowl. Sprinkle over the 50g caster sugar, cornflour, and lemon juice. Toss gently to combine and set aside.
  3. To make the crumble topping, put the plain flour into a large bowl. Add the cold, cubed butter. Rub the butter into the flour using your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  4. Stir in the 75g caster sugar, ground almonds, and orange zest. Mix well.
  5. Pour the berry filling into an ovenproof dish (approx. 20cm x 20cm).
  6. Evenly scatter the crumble topping over the berry mixture.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  8. Let it stand for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with custard, cream, or ice cream.
