Ingredients
- Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
- Medium onion 1
- Garlic cloves 2
- Fresh ginger, grated 1 thumb-sized piece
- Chilli flakes (optional) 1/4 tsp
- Savoy cabbage, thinly shredded 1/2 small
- Raw king prawns, peeled and deveined 200g
- Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) 2 tbsp
- Sesame oil 1 tsp
- Lime or lemon, juice of 1/2
- Spring onions, thinly sliced 2
Method
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep frying pan or wok over a medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chilli flakes (if using), and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the pan. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage has wilted and softened.
- Push the cabbage to one side of the pan, add the prawns to the empty space, and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- Stir the prawns and cabbage together. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, and squeeze over the lime or lemon juice.
- Toss everything together for 1 minute to combine the flavours and ensure the prawns are fully cooked.
- Serve immediately, garnished with the sliced spring onions.
