Ingredients
- Rolled oats 100g
- Milk (dairy or plant-based) 200ml
- Greek-style yogurt (optional, for creaminess) 50g
- Chia seeds 1 tbsp
- Honey or maple syrup 1 tsp
- Fresh ginger, finely grated (optional, for Korean hint) 1/4 tsp
- Mixed berries (fresh or frozen) 100g
- Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish) 1 tsp
- For serving (optional)
- Extra berries
- A drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of granola
Method
- In a jar or airtight container, combine the rolled oats, milk, Greek-style yogurt (if using), chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, and grated fresh ginger (if using).
- Stir everything together thoroughly to ensure the chia seeds are well distributed and there are no clumps of oats.
- Gently fold in most of the mixed berries, reserving a small handful for topping.
- Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken.
- In the morning, give the mixture a good stir. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Spoon the overnight oats into a serving bowl or glass.
- Top with the reserved fresh berries and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. Add a drizzle of honey or granola if desired.
