Ingredients
- Rolled oats 50g
- Chia seeds 1 tbsp
- Unsweetened cacao powder 1 tbsp
- Pinch of salt 1
- Milk (dairy or plant-based for vegan option) 150ml
- Maple syrup or honey (use maple syrup for vegan) 1 tsp
- Optional toppings: fresh berries, sliced banana, nuts, seeds
Method
- In a jar or airtight container, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, cacao powder, and salt.
- Pour in the milk and sweetener. Stir thoroughly to ensure no clumps of cacao powder or chia seeds remain.
- Secure the lid on the container.
- Refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours, allowing the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken.
- Before serving, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk.
- Serve cold, topped with your favourite fruits, nuts, or seeds.
