Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (170°C fan/Gas Mark 5).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the frozen berries, 50g caster sugar, cornflour, lemon zest, and cinnamon. Stir gently to coat the berries, then tip the mixture into a medium-sized ovenproof dish (approx. 20x20cm).
  3. In a separate bowl, add the plain flour and cubed butter. Rub the butter into the flour using your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  4. Stir in the 75g caster sugar and porridge oats (and chopped almonds, if using) into the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Evenly scatter the crumble topping over the berry mixture in the dish.
  6. Place the dish on a baking tray (to catch any potential drips) and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berry filling is bubbling.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Delicious served warm with custard, cream, or ice cream.
